Conducting Interviews at the MESA meeting
While MESA does not offer an on-site job service, it does set aside rooms where interviews can be held, and has a jobs posting board near the registration desk where institutions can post their jobs and contact information/interview instructions.
Institutions interested in interviewing candidates at the MESA meeting should:
1. advertise their position(s) on MESA's website and/or in the MESA Newsletter (contact MESA's newsletter editor, Nadia Hlibka, at nhlibka@u.arizona.edu or 520-621-7073).
2. mention in their advertisement that they will be conducting interviews at the MESA meeting in Washington, DC (the meeting is November 22-25 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel)
3. screen candidates prior to the meeting and arrange in advance specific interview times during the MESA meeting
4. contact Mark Lowder (mlowder@u.arizona.edu) to arrange for interview space
5. contact the candidates to let them know where and when they will be interviewing and the names of the members of the interview team
Interview space is scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, although scheduling priority is given to MESA's institutional members.
MESA schedules space on an as-needed basis. Due to limited space, MESA cannot simply set aside blocks of time for institutions. Institutions must have interviews scheduled in advance and request space for those interviews.
Questions should be directed to Mark Lowder at mlowder@u.arizona.edu. When contacting Mark to book interview space, please provide the following information:
Name of institution and department if relevant
Name of institutional contact
Position(s) for which interviews will be held
Names of members of the interview team
