Audiovisual Equipment at MESA 2009

During this economic downturn and in the face of a loss of 30% of MESA’s investment value, MESA’s Board of Directors has asked the Secretariat to put forward a balanced budget for 2009. The board has had to make some difficult budget decisions since the Secretariat anticipates an across-the-board decline in revenues.

The board has called for a restriction on audiovisual equipment for this year’s annual meeting. We are asking panelists to do without audiovisual equipment or to bring handouts if visuals are absolutely necessary. Each person should plan to bring about 50 copies of whatever they wish to circulate at their sessions. Those wishing to bring their own equipment must make arrangements with the hotel’s AV company to be certain they are meeting the hotel’s safety standards (taped down cords, issues of power supply, etc.) and to make arrangements to pay for any associated costs. If you do plan to bring your own equipment, please let me know so that I can adjust room sets accordingly.
